I think a secular "church" should meet on Sundays and have lectures on morality, character, and dignity. The timeless values of love, honor, self-reliance, and skepticism could be taught in positive, rational manner.
There could even be a choir, to sing hymns of scientific truth and reaffirm these truths to our minds.
"Righteousness" should be taught in terms of not skewing results, being faithful to agreements with others, and intellectual honesty.
But a strong focus on moral issues should be taught from the neo-Objectivist perspective of honoring agreements which benefit all parties, none of which were compelled to enter into said agreement but did so for reasonable self-interest.

The North Texas Church of Freethought meets in Carrollton, Texas.
I am impressed.
