Thank You For
Your Kindness
V. R. Sonti
This person had written asking about Jonathan Edwards, and we pointed to his sermon, "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God" and explained how John Wesley and his followers successfully softened the tone of Christianity (in our opinion, for the better). We are sorry those original exchanges were lost when we became infected with the happy99 virus. |

Dear Mr. Walker
Thank you for the trouble you have taken to provide me with the full lowdown on [Jonathan] Edwards.
I am an "Old Buddhist" by birth and conviction: and am comparing the stupidities in the popular versions of all religions. They are all essentially similar. After all, greatness is unique and different, while idiocy, our common human lot, ought to be more or less alike.
As Wilde said, somewhere, the Brotherhood of Man is not an ideal that we strive to attain in some distant future; it is a depressing fact! -- or something like that.
I remain, Sir,
V R Sonti
