Proof?

I have to ask myself where is the PROOF? Of course the world has looked for the proof that God exists but when they say they have found proof you have to wonder what kind of proof is it.
For instance a friend of mine (who our group of friends have nicknamed "God Boy") and I were having one of the regular controvercial arguments when he brings up the fact that scientists have "supposedly" found Noah's Ark. Boom! I'm thinking where the hell do scientists get off saying that a boat they found is Noah's Ark? My friend explains that they have done resaerch and the craft was time zoned at around the same time as what the bible describes as the great flood. Big deal. A guy built a boat a long time ago and scientists find it and suddenly they thinks its Noah's Ark because they can see that it was made in the same era, inconcievable. There is just no proof that this boat was Noah's.
Another proof my friend often uses is the Bible, which may I add he uses very often, and he seems to think that this is almost the only proof one would need. Uh-uh. No-way, is a book written over a millenia ago gonna tell me what the truth is. I'll tell him to think about a novel he has read (he reads many fictional novels) and point out how the characters can shoot fireballs and "seperate bodies of water" with a wave of there magic staff. Are you trying to tell me that the Bible could without a doubt be only truthful and there is no fiction at all within it? The entire book could be one giant super-detailed fictional novel that the people of that era have taken too seriously, and because many people say that the novel is truth, does that make it so?
Which brings me to my next point, MAJORITY RULES. This is what God is based on. Because 5 billion people say that He exists well then, He exists. Because the schools and parents and otherwise guiding hands always point to God and say He is real and He is there, then they start believing it and loving it only because so many people that are "older/wiser" tell them so. Majority rules.... my foot. Becuase there are 5 billion misguided fools running around trying to make it 6 billion does NOT mean that they are right.
This is what the world calls PROOF, a bunch of people ranting and raving about a boat and a novel? No thanks. Not even 5 billion people can make me see the light because there is no light until you put in the light bulb.
