Our Correspondence With
The World Church
Of The Creator
In researching the piece "Our Identity As Atheist Organizations," I wrote to Matthew Hale, leader of the World Church of the Creator, and asked him if they call themselves an "atheist group." The response from his office was a resounding no. |

Much discussion has ensued since The Washington Post called The World Church of the Creator "an atheist group." The other major journals we've consulted (New York Times; US News) fall short of using that word. Our question is, would you use the word "atheist" to describe the World Church of the Creator?
I am unable to get through to www.creator.org or creator.org.
Thank you for your time.

Hello,
Thank you for your inquiry about our Church. No, we do not describe ourselves as atheists. Our race is our religion and we place Nature's laws at the forefront of our lives. We do not "worship" anything, whether it is "God" or any other unproven pie in the sky entity. We do not "worship" Nature either, for to worship anything is demeaning. We simply say that Nature has laws against racial mixing and that the White Race is Nature's Finest. By placing Race as central to our lives as our religion, we stay in line with these eternal laws and from that, all good things flow. Below is a general informational letter we are sending now updating everyone on our website and other gen. information. Thanks again and we hope this has clarified our position for you. RAHOWA!

Thank you for your response. Many traditional atheists were taken aback
when the Washington Post called WCOTC an "atheist" group.

We have commended both The New York Times and US News and World Report for refraining from using this term to describe your group.
