Hey, Cliff
For what it's worth, I am aware of no recent cases where members of American Atheists "converted" to some form of religion. About 15 years ago, there was a policeman who came out of the closet in response to fundamentalist pressures within his department, but after a couple of years he supposedly gave in and converted to a fundamentalist church. There are have also been a couple of unsubstantiated reports of deathbed conversions, but these came from religious relatives of the deceased.
It seems that many testimonials from born-again Christians and fundamentalists come from people who had very dysfunctional lives. "I dropped acid over a thousand times, was shooting heroin and selling my body for dog food, but then I found Jesus... I am now saved!"
