Let's face it. If religion hadn't been invented as a convenient excuse for strange occurences many years ago, we would laugh at it today. We would treat it with the same disdain we treat cults such as Heaven's Gate. The Church almost made slaves out of Europe in the middle ages. No one apologizes for middle ages. Books were banned. They spoke and wrote in latin, so no one could tell what they were doing. People were burned for disagreeing. This sounds like nazis to me. There are also many contradictions of the Bible. When I get the time I'll try and compile a list. And if anyone tries to tell me I don't know how this works, how's this: I went to a Catholic school for seven years. I still feel violated. They almost got me. But it all sounded a little good to be true.
