Hello,
First of all, I wish to compliment you with your great website. I would also like to give you my opinion on the situation of atheism here in Holland.
Atheism is mainly ignored here, both by the public and the media. Especially the media concern me; I have never seen a TV program here which questions the Bible's myths with hard scientific facts, nor have I seen a program in which atheists speak freely about their disbeliefs.
I think this is dangerous, because it keeps the crowds "dumb", and the stupidities of the Christian faith and other faiths are not pointed out to them. Also, speaking to those who are (or were former) your friends, about atheism and questioning one's beliefs, is almost surely to get you into one hell of a discussion, where the theists tend to get quite verbally and/or fysically agressive...
Well, there you have it. I just needed to say this "aloud" to someone. (albeit in writing)
Is the situation here in Holland much different than in other countries?
Anyway, keep up the good work with your website!
Greetings from Holland,
Wim Koornneef
