Dear Cliff,
I want to visit your country soon.
So, in order to avoid getting lynched,
where are the no-go areas
for compassionate atheists?
Sincerely,
Clemens Grueter
Mankind,
in my opinion,
must learn
to live without god.
Religious belief is for people
who can't cope with the two facts
that life is senseless by origin
and that there is no life after death.

PS: Having found your wonderful website by browsing through www.britannica.com searching for "atheism". :-)

I don't think anybody will get lynched, even in the Deep South. Our big problems are not those that a visitor would feel, but a resident -- a second-class citizen. Oregon and Washington have the highest per-capita of atheists, though we are not nearly as active as atheists elsewhere, who must be active in order to remain above water.
