The Chetek Alert
Has God really enlisted to fight on America's side during our tragic, albeit justified, confrontation with a part of the Muslim word? Can it be demonstrated that God has ever supported any group of human beings engaged in warfare against another group of human beings?
Certainly Christ is being crucified once again by those chauvinistic pseudo-patriots such as Governor Scott Mc Callum, Assembly Speaker Scott Jensen, Rep. Stephen Nass and the Veterans of Foreign Wars by their rabid opposition to the wise decision of the Madison School Board to confine daily patriotic observances to a playing of an instrumental version of the national anthem.
I suspect that God was not pleased when fanatics claiming to represent Him murdered some five thousand human beings in New York on September 11. Moreover, I suspect that He is equally displeased when our governor and other state officials wish to get an undeserved reputation for piety by their unseemly public protestations of godliness and demeaning and insulting remarks about those who do not share their religious views.
Jesus Christ said "Love your enemy." God loves all humanity. God does not take sides.
