Songs We Can All Sing
With Vigor And Meaning
Dear Mr. Selig,
Our nation did indeed suffer a disaster and tragedy on September 11th. The Islamic Fundamentalist Jihad terrorists sacrificed themselves in the name of their God, Allah.
The point mentioned because I am sincerely distraught that national baseball games have replaced the traditional Seventh Inning's "Take Me Out to the Ballgame", a most wonderful song for everyone, with "God Bless America", a song of intolerance, division and concern because which "God"? "Allah", "Jehovah", "Yahweh", even "Satan", for some, is exactly blessing America? Certainly, "God" did not bless America or NYC on September 11th!
And, which team is "God blessing" for the World Series?
As an Atheist (gods do not exist) and baseball fan, I am not happy with the 7th Inning substitution. US of A's Patriotism is not to which "God" one sings or prays to but rather the US Constitution and to:
"PLAY BALL" and "Take Me Out to the Ball Game"! We can all sing that with vigor and meaning and emotionalism.
The Islamic Jihad don't play baseball but state: "Allah (God) Bless Afghanistan"!
