Dear sirs:
I am writing this to vent I guess. I am sitting here watching the events unfold from September 11, 2001, through the "anniversary" broadcasts. It all hits very close to home to me because I lost my 15 year old son on September 13, 1996. I very much am in mourning both with the nation and personally. I have read the newspaper where people are murdered almost daily, just in our city. Children are abused, beaten, and killed. Good people die in terrible ways very day.
What's my point? A very unpopular one. One that no one wants to listen to. Where is God? We are all so concerned with keeping his name in our schools, hospitals, pledges, etc. The sooner we realize that God is just a fairy tale that went astray. Years ago religion was used as a threat to keep ignorant people in line. Well it worked. Then it was found out that people would actually give up possessions in the name elf God. Boy did the greed mongers pick up on this. Over the centuries people have done both wonderful and horrific things all in God's name. God was something everyone needed to give hope to hopeless lives. And these same type of people have been taken advantage of ever since. People have been killed in God's name. Still are today. What do you think this current war is over?
I was raised a Catholic. I attended a Catholic Grade school and high school. I watched the poor parish that I was brought up in go to nothing. People so poor and asked to give an offering every week to church. I watched as the Parish priests drove new cars every year and go on expensive trips. Everyone said that was his reward for the hard work he did for the Lord. Everyday more priests are brought up on molestations charges. Again people who used God for their own profit and benefit. When will it end. Never
The sooner people realize that God was a convenient fairy tale much like Santa Claus. The sooner people will be able to put the faith that they waste on God on them selves and their families and there neighbors. Gods not going to save us. If there was a God he said goodbye and went on his way.
If I had the power to save the world, one country, one city, one child and refused to do it because of a stupid story like Adam and Eve people would rip me to pieces. But we say God has this power and chooses not to use it.
Wake up. God is Big Business. Put your faith in yourself and your loved ones. Its not easy. Its nice having God to blame for things that go wrong. And praising him for things that go right. Put that faith in us, in people. If you need God have him. But don't force him into schools and pledges and government and into the lives of people who don't believe.
Believe in yourself, you're the only one who can make changes or be happy with your life!!!
