I consider myself lucky to have been raised with very little religious structure. When I was younger, my parents took me to Sunday school, but, upon my request, I stopped attending shortly thereafter. Being without a structured belief system was difficult for me around the age of thirteen. I struggled to overcome the transience I saw in life, and finally found meaning and worth in helping others to live happily. Since, I have read philosophers like Satre, Kant, and Russell, and seen my own beliefs mirrored in theirs.
